PRIOR TO 1988, and her return to Vermont, Clair Dunn worked from her own design studio in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She began doing work for the web in 1995.

Some of her print media clients were

  • French Paper Company, Niles, Michigan
  • The Selmer Company, Elkhart, Indiana (musical instruments)
  • U.S. Robotics, Chicago, Illinois (well you know who they are)
  • Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan
Since returning to Vermont, she has worked for Associates in Rural Development as a graphics and technical editor for their USAID and World Bank proposals and for five years for Vermont Creative Software as a support representative and later as a software developer.

Her education background includes a B.S. in English, State University of New York; an Honors M.A. in English, Western Michigan University; and the infamous A.B.D. (all but dissertation) from The University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.

In September, 1995, at the Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts in Montreal (ISEA '95), she attended two lengthy seminars in web authoring. The first was led by Brian Evans, Vanderbilt University, the second by Stephen Wilson, author of World Wide Web Design Guide, published by Hayden Books.

She subscribes to the following: Linux Journal, Internet World, The Perl Journal, and is an associate member of the Piano Technicians' Guild
